This doctor thinks he is also a policeman. I HAVE to see him concerning chronic pain. His office is ALWAYS a strange experience. It is dirty, his employees are rude and un-caring and as a doctor, took advantage of his position and made patients give urine samples for analysis. I found the office staff to be very kind and helpful, however messages left for the nurses were not returned for 2-5 days. Although after treatment I was told to call with any questions or to report any complications or reactions, my calls went unanswered. Dr. Delahoussaye is quite knowledgeable about his specialization, however, his abrasive arrogance and disregard for patient's questions, concerns and discomfort left me feeling frustrated & confused. Dr. D is a very smart, no nonsense kind of physician. He alsways take all the time needed to answer my questions and address my concerns. He continued to work with me until my pain was truly under control. He does get aggrivated with patients who are not trying to get better. Personally, I wouldn't care if he was arrogant (hasn't been to me). If I was that smart, I might be confident to the point of appearing arrogant myself. Care is top notch. Dr. Delahoussaye is very arrogant and abrasive. He seems very annoyed when a patients asked questions about his condition on the basis of his own Internet research. The insurance companies tend to steer patients to Dr. Delahoussaye because he will take their side any any dispute. That is a well known fact across New Mexico -- from Albuquerque to Las Cruces. Stay away from this guy.
This doctor does not care about his patients physical well being, nor does he care about whether or not they are given their needed/prescribed medicine(s). Over all office is small, crammed with patients are forever waiting and waiting and waiting to been seen! His staff is unprofessional in the behavior and rude to patients needs.
