Avoid Dr. Coutinho at all costs. Twice she has hung up on me when she was the on-call physician even when I was in labor. Once I was admitted to the hospital, the first thing she said was to ask me was when I was getting an epidural. Later, the nurses had to warn me she was coming down the hall and that they stood behind me and my birth plan. Thankfully there was a shift change and Dr. Coutinho DID NOT deliver my baby.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Coutinho. She has been our family’s doctor for years — caring for my mom, my daughter, my daughter-in-law, and me. Through both good times and difficult ones, she has been there for us with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. What makes Dr. Coutinho so special is how she treats each of us as if we are her most important patient. 4 years later and I’m here to make another review because this woman and my experience I had with her literally haunts me. I’m very grateful that my d&c worked and it was a safe procedure, however I had to do two rounds of the pills previous to the d&c. Come to find out I was never given the first pill either time which is most likely why it failed to pass twice. When given the first pill plus the Misoprostol at home is more effective and stronger. I have been a patient for almost 20 years. Care through pregnancies and beyond. Cannot say enough about the expert level of care from Dr. Coutinho and Sharon.
I have been a patient of Dr. Coutinho for years. She is an excellent example of all a doctor should be. She takes the time to get to know her patient and listens attentively to her patients concerns.
