I cannot appreciate enough Dr. Avanthi and her team for their incredible support during my wrist injury. Every member of her reception team was exceptionally kind and supportive. I was able to get my appointments and surgery arranged at very short notice, and everything was handled so smoothly. Dr. Mandaleson is an excellent surgeon and a genuinely caring professional once you’re in the room or undergoing surgery. She explains things clearly, listens to concerns, and delivers fantastic advice. However, the administration and scheduling side of things is extremely frustrating. Every appointment I’ve had has involved a long wait—typically 30 to 60 minutes past the scheduled time, with no heads up of delays. Avanthi operated on my shoulder after a mountain bike accident. It was a full reconstruction, significant damage repaired and bicep tenodesis. I had a difficult recovery over a period of 12 months due to developing adhesive capsulitis and I have some permanent differences in shoulder anatomy / rotation and movement. But, considering where I was prior to surgery, I'm happy with where I've ended up. I have built strength back in the shoulder to progress back to riding and weights. I have had a trigger finger operated on at the Hawthorn Hospital. Avanthi and her team of smiling, supportive women were just wonderful. Such a change from all the male surgeons I have experienced. Avanthi’s open, friendly attitude was a breath of fresh air and her surgical skills are brilliant. Highly recommended.
