Saw D. Liss to shave callus on edge of right foot. He did a poor job and it is still there and still hurts .. Only went to see him because he was available now. BIG MISTAKE!!

1st visit - painful hammertoes; took x-rays & prescribed stiff orthotics, which helped a lot. Cost $1200. 2nd visit - 1 yr later - severe pain middle of same foot. No X-ray or exam, diagnosed tendinitis & said stretch. Made new orthotics, this time soft soled at mid foot area - cost $1200. 3rd visit - 2 mos later - still in severe pain. After viewing X-ray, he was much more sympathetic. He said arthritis had changed dramatically since prior X-ray. He took back the new orthotics to have them adjusted. Newly adjusted orthotics... read more

I am extremely frustrated with this practitioner. I had a bunionectomy done 5 years ago and still have a visible stitch. After it became infected and I went to urgent care and dermatologist but no other doctor (including podiatrist) would touch it. I reluctantly went back to Dr. Liss, paid a $40 copay for him to fix his mistake, and after 3 weeks still had a visible stitch. I scheduled a follow-up which took 3 more weeks. He required another $40. AWFUL!

I had two ingrown toenails a year ago on my big toes(insides) and had ingrown pieces removed and treated with phenol by Dr. Liss. The doc cut half of one nail, which is still very narrow and growing sideways (looks bad), and the other nail is ingrowing again. I had the same procedure done on the same nails on the outside of the nails by the other doctor about 10 years ago, and no re-occurring ingrowns on these sides anymore. Looking for another podiatrist, disappointed.

I took my 91 year old mother to see Dr. Liss for a problem with her toes. She was reluctant to go, but once she got into the office, Dr. Liss immediately put her at ease with his warm and compassionate manner. He is extremely adept at dealing with the elderly and explained in very clear terms what he was doing and how she should follow up with him. The entire office staff was welcoming and competent. I will be taking her back to see him on a regular basis.

Business response:

Thank you for your great feedback! We will be sure to share this with Dr. Liss and the staff.

I have been going to Dr. Liss for years now. He always takes the time to explain what he is doing and how it will help my chronic foot issue. I highly recommend anyone with a foot or ankle problem to see Dr. Liss. He has definitely helped me out tremendously with mine.

I went to Dr. Liss January 2016 for what he diagnosed with an X-ray as "Stage 4 Plantar Fasciitis". For the next several months,I went through the traditional procedures:custom orthotics, stretches, prescriptions for inflammation, various night splints and finally, cortisone shot but NONE gave ANY relief to the severe pain in my heel. He said I was just getting old! To make a long, painful story short, another doctor suggested I get an MRI and sure enough,a stress fracture had been there all along!

Terrible experience. Went in and was diagnosed with a abunion and surgery was recommended. I did not agree that a bunion was causing the pain I was experiencing from a sports injury. I requested an MRI to rule out other issues and Dr Liss said absolutely not. He said he saw the xray and the bunion was the problem. I left and did not return. I saw another dr who immediately diagnosed potentially torn ligaments and prescribed an MRI. The results showed not one but two torn ligaments. 0 stars.

I was a patient of Dr. Liss's for years. I've had 3 surgeries done by Dr. Liss. The surgery on my right foot went very well. The 1st surgery on my left foot did not go well. He didn't remove the bunion or align the toe as he did on my right foot. The 2nd surgery left an even larger scar on my toe and upper foot, still without removing the bunion or aligning the toe. It has been a nightmare. He skills have diminished greatly. He doesn't answer questions directly and rushes you out. Be careful.
