I was recently treated for a macular hole by Dr. Lam and his staff. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent. The problem, surgery, recovery and possible side effects were thoroughly explained and all my questions were patiently answered. Staff were kind and professional. Highly recommend this physician and practice.

I made an appointment with Dr. Lam for floaters in my left eye. The floaters began to become increasingly annoying and appearing as a film curtain which was effecting my driving and reading capability. Dr. Lam listened to my concerns and anxiety about my vision and suggested a Vitrectomy. He was very thorough and explained the procedure .I felt very confident I was in the best of hands. The surgery was successful and I have 20/20 vision again and no floaters.I’m extremely happy with Dr. Lam and the results. If you need a Retin... read more

In March, Dr. Lam provided immediate diagnosis and information on treatment for my retinal detachment. He was thorough in his exam and addressed my condition very clearly using both medical terminology and every-day language. This ensured that I understood my condition AND my options for treatment. This allowed me to make an informed decision. Dr. Lam immediately began treatment. His instructions were clear and precise. The skills he demonstrated during the 'bubble' and lazer procedures were beyond exceptional. Dr Lam's foll... read more

Following cataract surgeries, I suffered with large floaters for 18 months. I was referred to Dr. Lam for a surgical consultation. After thoroughly assessing my vision-altering floaters in both eyes, and concluding that I struggled greatly to 'live with them,' Dr. Lam did believe that I would be an excellent candidate for vitrectomy surgeries. He did caution about risks. Surgeries were scheduled one eye at a time. After success and healing in the first eye, a second successful surgery was performed a month later. I was thril... read more

Dr. Lam is precise, careful and insures the best possible results. There’s a very good chance you will have to wait up to a half hour for your appointment but that may be because retinal surgery has to take place asap for good outcomes and Dr. Lam often sees patients the same day they call for an appointment. I am confident Dr. Lam deserves all the positive reviews, including this one.

Dr. Lam corrected my dad’s detached retina. My dad’s vision has returned to 20/20 and he is very happy with the care, expertise, and follow-ups that Dr. Lam provided. He is grateful for Dr. Lam’s expertise and level of care throughout his procedure and appointments.

I was very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Andrew Lam after a hole developed on my retina. He quickly diagnosed the serious problem and clearly explained what had to be done. The operation went very smoothly and he guided me through my recovery which went very well. I was surprised that I had no pain through the whole process and my eye healed completely.

Dr. Lam became my go-to ophthalmologist/surgeon after a detached retina necessitated emergency surgery. He was able to clarify the complexities of what had happened, as well as the follow-up care. The procedure and its aftermath were anxiety-inducing. But Dr. Lam was able to access the situation and proceed in a way that, in less capable hands, might--as I later learned--have resulted in blindness. It wasn't until my final visit when I discovered just how dire my diagnosis was, and how disastrous the outcome might have been.... read more

I had been seeing a shadow in my vision and had a regular eye exam scheduled. During the exam, my regular eye doctor, Dr. David Shield, quickly sent me to New England Retina Consultants and I was seen within 3 hours. I met with Dr. Lam and was scheduled for surgery the next day at Bay State Medical Center. Dr. Lam is extremely skilled and has a great surgical team. In addition, he is kind and caring. I had 3 followup appointments at New England Retina Consultants where the office staff was always professional and competent. ... read more
