I love doctor Chen, I have been seeing him for years and he’s an amazing doctor. I appreciate that he always takes time to talk to me at my visits and is very informative when it comes to any questions I may have. He has a very blunt personality and maybe not everyone likes that but I do and I appreciate it. I would recommend Dr Chen to anyone who is looking for a doctor who specializes in addiction.

I waited several weeks before writing this review so that I could reflect on my experience with Dr. Chen more objectively. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and left me feeling misunderstood and dismissed. Dr. Chen characterized me as being dependent on a non-controlled muscle relaxer that has significantly improved my pain — despite the fact that my urine drug screen was negative for opioids. Very hateful. No empathy no compassion. Wants you to hear what he dictates but don’t want to listen to patients. Thinks he knows what pain the patient is having but until he has been in the patients shoes he don’t know. Treated me like a child in the principles office to punish me. Don’t know how he keeps patients.

Dr Chen hates a chronic pain patient taking pain meds. He said that to my face. I should never have been sent to him in the first place. I'm not an addict I'm a pain patient. I have early onset arthritis all over my body. 30 yrs of pain mgmt. 30 yrs of monthly UAs. I always had my pill counts right too.
