My son found her to be just the right fit for him. He appreciates her directness. Her solutions have worked very well for him. He respects her and listens to her research based advice. In his words, she has to be direct so people know it's important to make those changes she is asking for in order to get results.
When I was younger, I was taken to her to be tested for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Instead of doing that, she tried to put me on medication. She was also rude and seemed to hate working with me as I couldn't sit still or focus.
Dr. Amy has over 40 years of experience, and while she does have a unique personality, she knows what she is doing. My first impression was that she came across as harsh and dismissive, but after several months of parent one on one sessions I realized she is eccentric and once you get used to her you realize the first impression is not accurate.
