1. Patients with complex health conditions need time to be heard. The standard time for a specialist is 45 minutes for an initial visit and 15 minutes for a follow up. Many of the patients I see come after visiting with dozens of physicians for several years. In 45 minutes they cannot cover the extent of their medical history. Nor will 15 minutes start addressing their ongoing condition on a follow up visit. 2. The doctor is the health advocate of his patient. The patient shouldn't feel that his doctor is confrontational or ... read more

A hero in our house, Dr Katz stuck with us for five years and finally beat my daughter’s Lyme, which had crossed the blood brain barrier. A thousand stars
His office dropped me while still under his care and medicine was in my refrigerator which still needed to be administered. I was given a short term notice to change appointment dates which I could not make as I could not secure a ride. Rather than assist me they dropped me. Pompous office staff reflects upon him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Katz for 20 years. He is brilliant, compassionate, and an incredible diagnostician. He has figured out my complex medical conditions when many other physicians could not. I thank God every day for Dr. Katz, and am forever grateful to him for helping me.
The smartest, most compassionate doctor I’ve met so far.
Exceptional human being. Thank god every day for him.Joanne Damon
In my opinion, that Dr. Katz is God's gift to me & to medicine. I have Chronic Lyme with cognitive impairment & I trust Dr. Katz implicitly! He wants to know, what has happened since my last visit and if I have any questions or concerns before he begins his exam. The last appointment I had with him was virtual, due to the pandemic, but it was non the le... read more
Dr. Ami is a brilliant practitioner who approaches his patient as a person rather than a diagnosis. He is willing to go "outside the box" and provides hope for his patients as he cares for them with skill and compassion.

It has taken two years for her to recover from his 'treatment.' He prescribed a medication (Amantadine) that sent her into a psychotic episode. He made no effort to help, never responded to my emails, and had his receptionist write to me when I texted, called, and emailed from the hospital. Only through my own weeks of research and finding one ER resident at Mass General willing to quickl... read more
