I had a left hip replacement 3 years ago. Not happy because my leg was made 12mm longer than the other while it had been shorter than it before the op. It felt weird walking, like I had to keep my left leg bent. He suggested orthapedic shoes after I had the X-rays to measure my leg lengths, I can imagine the cost and how they would look.
