In 2020, my wife was permitted to participate in a new clinical trial led by Dr. Spira. The trial ended recently and resulted in a new medication being approved by the FDA to treat a form of cancer that had previously been seen as "undruggable". Dr. Spira is an outstanding, patient-centered oncologist and researcher. When my wife was referred to him, we were told, "he's a smart guy".
