Stay away from this guy! He was awful, my daughter was terrified so she was screaming and crying. He put his hand over her mouth and said, "you are allowed to cry not scream!" I was in shock, I could not believe he just held his hand over my daughters mouth. I wanted to press charges but I am just a single mother, he's a dentist and probably protected from accusations like mine. But he is a total jerk regardless, and I would never recommend him! Horrible Experience Asked me to hold my child down, and was ready to argue with me at the drop of a hat when I wasn't comfortable with it. Does not understand that all children are different and if he would have just asked my child nicely, instead of using force, the appointment would have went smoothly. I will not be returning to this office. I'd rather pay out of pocket for another dentist where my insurance is not accepted than return to this one. Knowledgeable I took my son here for a consultation for a lot of work he needed done. He was very knowledgeable, but a bit abrupt with my son. His wife was very nice and had him relaxed. They do have arcade games for the kids to play while you consult with the dentist, which was a good way to keep my son occupied while I talked.
Good Pediatric Dentist I have been taking my children to see Dr. La Torre for a few years now. We are basically happy with him. He could stand to be a little more friendly with the children. However, his wife and hygienist, is excellent interacting with the children. She is also a lactation consultant so I know that the practice is very supportive of breastfeeding.
