I had my ACL repaired using the BEAR procedure along with a meniscus repair performed by Dr. Zhang, and I can’t say enough about how exceptional he and his team have been. He is highly skilled, friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about his patients. He took the time to answer all of my questions and address every concern, which gave me the confidence to choose the BEAR procedure over the traditional reconstruction method. I’m now four months post‑op, and my knee is feeling great.
Dr. Zhang and his team are amazing. Dr Zhang is thorough, efficient, and has impeccable bedside manner. It was the most seamless, least stressful medical experience I have ever had. The UCSF Orthopedic Institue is AMAZING. Dr. Zhang is an EXCEPTIONAL surgeon. He successfully repaired the rotator cuff tears in both my shoulders (one 4 yrs ago the other in October). Dr Zhang and his team are incredible!! I had two hip surgeries this year for labral tear and impingement and I am like a new person now. I am so grateful for the amazing work that they do and the effort they put in to ensuring one is prepared and that recovery goes smoothly. Highly recommend his office.
Dr. Zhang was my second opinion doctor I had from my ski injury. The first doctor did not even go over my MRI or XRAY, and only looked at the report. Dr. Zhang went through all imaging in front of me and was able to detect that I had a torn ACL. He gave me his best opinion on surgery regarding how physically active I would like to be in the future.
