Long wait times. Staff is rude. Physician is rude. Practice doesn't respect patients.
We have been seeing Dr. Richards for 3 years now for my son's nystagmus. The wait is usually quite long but they do warn you ahead of time to be prepared to be at the office for 2-3 hours because Dr. Richards usually conducts dilated eye exams so they take you back first, he looks at him, then you go back and wait after they administer the dilating drops. This man had the audacity to say it would be “extreme child neglect” if I didn’t get my son glasses all because I said I needed to talk to my husband first. Obviously we would do whatever our child needed but honestly I wanted to consult another pediatric optometrist first because I had a bad feeling about him from the minute I walked in there. Horrible experience!
My daughter has been seen by Dr. Richards for 13 years. Yes the wait is always long but it is expected due to the amount of patients he sees. I can tell he truly cares about his patients.
Horrible experience. We waited an hour plus after our scheduled appointment time to be first seen with zero apology. Everyone my child and I encountered in this office was rude. Dr. Richards was rude and rushed through his part of the exam and come to find out gave my child an incorrect prescription, which caused severe headaches. Now I'm out money for useless glasses and a 2d eye visit with another eye doctor. I will pursue this legally to the fullest extent.
He seemed very hurried and rude like. Not very professional and wasn't very compassionate when it came to dilating my 2 year olds eyes.
