I receive excellent care from Dr. Hinel. This one-star review is because CEI cancelled my payment plan and now say they will not set up a new one. I have tried calling multiple times and they always transfer me to a “financial counselor,” where I sit on hold for 20 minutes and then the line disconnects. On another frustrating note, there are sometimes extraordinarily long wait times. I need to see a specialist within CEI. If I had other local provider options, I would consider leaving CEI due to their administrative issues.
I had surgery on 7/28/25 and 8/11/25. The medical staff were very professional and caring. Dr. Peter Chen was very nice an caring. I would recommend CEI to people to use for eye care.
I wish I checked the reviews in more depth before my appointment today. First of all, the wait time was pretty unnecessary seeing as I was sitting in a room by myself for 40 minutes. For context, I told the doctor a this was the first time going to the eye doctor in 8 years. The tip of the iceberg for me was after my eyes were dilated, the only thing my doctor told me was my eyes would be sensitive to light for a couple of hours.
