Two and a half months post cervical fusion surgery. I've had this cervical fusion surgery, chest surgery, septum nose surgery and a blown out ear drum. The blown ear drum was the most painful, this cervical fusion recovery was the most miserable for recovery. Dr. A. Patel is an excellent Neurosurgeon. He took his time to explain the procedure to me and was very patient listening to my concerns. He recommended an ALIF for my S1-L5 and L5-L4. ALIF is the procedure where they go through the abdomen to get to the disks. for this reason Dr. Patel referred me to Dr. Skubic who is a general surgeon to assist him with the procedure.
