Come for the Atmosphere – My husband and I loved the atmosphere of this place, right next to Dekalb Peachtree Airport and its colorful lights and small planes. The service was cheerful and friendly, was not very impressed with the food though. Granted, we didn't try the burgers and fries that Downwind is known for. Instead I opted for the spanikopita, I liked it, pastry, spinach and cheese can't go wrong with me. The burgers and fries and to die for!!!! – When I first went to this place with my co-workers, I thought it was some rinky dink place but as soon as we entered, we were greeted with warm welcomes and friendly service. The atmosphere is really cool and the food is delicious. Every last one of my co-workers emphasized how tasty their food was. I'm a loyal customer now. Thanks Downwind!!!!

My FAVORITE!! – This is one of my very favorite resturants. I eat lunch here at least once a week. The specials are always wonderful and you can't beat the burgers. The owner makes you feel like you are a member of his family. The deck is perfect for an afternoon beer.

A superb vantage point to quaff beers and eat bar food. – The Scene The deck of this bar and grill attached to tiny DeKalb-Peachtree Airport overlooks single-engine planes arriving and departing (and, on a clear day, Stone Mountain). great outdoor burgers..with a view – This place is FUN!! The food is well prepared and fresh and the service is good. If you like airplanes and good food at a great price, you'll love the Downwind. If you choose to eat outside you can watch the planes come and go every few minutes. Its a good place for the family and is fun for the kids as well, because most of them do like to see the planes.
