I have been in twice this year for minor repairs to a Trek and a Schwinn. Both times I just stopped in, was assisted and was back in the rode quickly. The staff are knowledgeable, willing to explain things, and gave me recommendations about what needed interested attention/what could be deferred. I had a great experience. Thank you!
Service was top notch. Adam, their tech, made it a mission to solve a gear skipping issue that had not only stumped a DYI self guy like me, but other shops! In the end he solved it and although he had put new parts on just to eliminate causes, he removed them and only charged for what caused the issue!
It's good to see Downtube is still around after all of these years. When I lived on the east coast (up until the mid '90s), whenever I'd visit family friends in Ravena, NY, I'd stop by for a visit. Cool place and friendly staff.
The Downtube has always been one of the top, if not the top, bicycle shops in the Capital District. their retail store has been closed to do damage from a fire for several years, but they've finally reopened with a fully renovated, modern space plus a new coffee shop. the new store is really nice and i'm glad The Downtube is back
