Kind of a dive but rooms were clean and location very good. The guard rails outside the doors are a major violation waiting for disaster to happen... Don't let your kids climb on them.

We stayed for one night. Yes the price is reasonable-- $89 for a night--and you get what you pay for. There was no one at the checkin desk when we came. The bed made a banging noise when I sat on it or turned. The ice machine was broken. The pool had no towels. My floor lamp didn't work. When we came back after dinner, the front door was locked--two guys outside were yelling as they couldn't get in at 7:00. The lesson: DON'T come late to check in.

"Couldnt" take me because of a policy on locals. Fromt desk girl (young short blonde) was faaaaaar from accommodating or helpful in any way. Just was happy to brush me off to do less work. Ive worked in hotels in avl for 10 years. Front desk, front desk mgmt, front office mgmt, asst mgmt. If i had seen this quality of service as a higher up, she wouldnt be welcomed back tomorrow. Recently stayed for 3 nights - overall a great experience! The location can’t be beat - free parking and it’s right in downtown. Just minutes away walk from the Grove Arcade, Wall Street, and all of the other downtown shopping. The breakfast options are limited, but ok. The pool is nice. It’s what you’d expect for an older motel - dated, but seems well kept. I also appreciate that they don’t charge exorbitant pet fees!
