I live in Texas, and when I come to Little Rock, I always leave my dogs at Downtown Dogz. I love this facility even though it may not be the state of the art place. The building is an old historical building with wood floors and lots of different rooms. With wooden floors, I know it must be extremely hard to keep clean, but there have been many times when I have come in while they are mopping and cleaning the floors and kennels. I took a tour of this place and it is hands down the dirtiest, most disgusting place I have ever stepped foot in. The pictures on their website and facebook are incredibly misleading. You could not pay me all the money in the world to leave my dogs there for an hour. I was stunned to see that anyone felt comfortable leaving their pets there. Took my dogs here and couldn t bear to leave them. Place was unclean and not properly maintained. They didn t have central air/heat, had puppies in the main area who hadn t finished their shots, and the play area has no shade or grass or cool areas. The entire place smells like excrement, not dogs. I ve boarded my dogs at a couple places, and they ve always been clean and welcoming, even though they are taking care of 20+ dogs. The owners seem super nice, but the reviews I ve seen are NOT accurate.

I am shocked to read other reviews. WOW WOW WOW. My dogs have gone to downtown dogz many times. Very happy. At first yes my dog lost some weight but it was because she was excerising so much more. Honestly vet said she was in much better health and condition. My dog ate more to cause she was burning more calories. I love that she gets to run and play with other dogs. I visited several facilities prior to boarding my dog for the first time, and was ultimately most impressed with Downtown Dogz. He has been for both daycare and overnight stays, and I am extremely satisfied.The owners are clearly dedicated to their business. The re-purposed warehouse may not look like other, newer facilities but it is spacious and clean and, most importantly, seems comfortable for the dogs. I love this place. They simplify my life because I always know that when I go to pick my dog up, shes going to be happy and tired. You can tell that they take a lot of care by the smell -- it smells doggy but not deathly like some dog daycares. I heart you d.d.
