Avoid taking your camera in for repair. I don't normally leave bad reviews but here it goes. Here is the timeline of my experience with Downtown Camera. 1) Brought my camera in for a loose lens connection. They sent it in for repair. 2) It's sent back after saying they couldn't find anything wrong, I ask them to check again. 3) They say that that's not an issue but the SD card reader doesn't work now. Knowledgeable staff members and good customer service
Large shop that not caters for digital- but also film photography. Plenty of knowledgeable and friendly staff. Reason for the three star rating is the prices they charge for the occasion cameras. Think 2 to 3 times the price I found on eBay for the same item. For example I looked at obviously used Nikon F90x with 50mm 1.8 for which the price was CAD 595 and found on eBay a near mint F90x with a 50mm 1.4 for CAD 250 including shipping.

My sister took my camera to them to get my camera sensor cleaned and they stole my lens. They denied it when my sister went back and realized the lens was missing from my camera bag. I wish I was lying. I’ve had this lens since I was 16 and now all I have is the body. It was the only lens I’ve had and used for the last 9 years. I am devastated.
