We have been to Downriggers a couple times in our visits to Friday Harbor and always have excellent food. This time was no exception. We chose to have our wedding dinner at Downriggers with 30 other guests and the food was outstanding. The service was impeccable as well. I wish I was better with names because every person was so wonderful. Such a great atmosphere and my food was amazing! Can’t beat the view either.
We were pleasantly surprised how exceptional the food was with more creative flavors and offerings than normal, particularly in such a tourist location!
Service was extremely slow and it wasn’t very busy. We asked our waitress a question about a garnish on our plate. It tasted good and we wanted to know what it was. She said she couldn’t remember and she would go ask the chef. She came back 15 minutes later and asked if we needed anything else. We asked her again about the garnish and she said, “ Oh yeah it is a lotus root.” Ha ha.

I vote this the best restaurant on the island. The chef's presentations are always gorgeous. Generous portions and the best fresh fries & chips in town. The fish tacos are excellent. The restaurant is beautiful and contemporary inside, beautiful views everywhere you look. I love it when a restaurant takes the time to show they care by providing linen napkins at lunch.
