For a medical doctor, I expected Dr. Downie to be patient, understanding, and helpful. I did not feel heard, nor understood, during my time under his care. He refused me 1 of 2 medications that my personal psychiatrist has had me on for several years and expected me to be fine. I saw doctor Downie for my visit. I know coming to a diagnoses takes time, knowledge of, and an established relationship with the patient, however Dr. Downie was extremely unsure about any and everything about me. I don't believe he asked me enough questions to get to where we needed to be, and at the end after telling me he didn't know me well enough to label me as anything, he still felt comfortable prescribing me something.
