Best shop in town. Honest, fast, wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. Also did a great job with my lawnmower.
Five years ago, Dowagiac Auto and Small Engine Repair earned our trust with fast, competent service at a fair price. Based on that experience, we returned when our 2013 Dodge Journey started acting up. That was our mistake. We suspected the alternator — a well-known weak point in this model — and said so when we dropped it off. They dismissed our concerns and insisted “the alternator checks out fine, it’s the battery.” Against our better judgment, we trusted the professionals. Holy cow!!! I've had a harder time ordering at a fast food drive-thru. I dropped my husband's work car off today and the gentleman behind the counter was so nice and made it incredibly easy for me, even though I had no idea what I had to do since it's a fleet vehicle. Honestly, that set the tone for the rest of my day. Obviously I have to go back to get the car, but I would definitely go back after that, if we need more work done. Its so nice to feel that good about a mechanic, when all you hear are bad stories.

1/14/25 Svc Mgr, Tommy is always professional. The svc Tech are efficient. Being local in Dowagiac, the cost is fair and often less than other svc Shop. Not traveling to St.Joe, Niles or S.Bend for svc is convenient and cost effective from Sister Lks. VP
