Douzo means welcome in Japanese and this restaurant has certainly been welcoming guests on a regular basis. Creative sushi rolls and delicious cocktails are served at this eatery. Menu is extensive and selecting can be a chore, especially if you are new to the cuisine. But don't hesitate to take help from the obliging staff. Go ahead and order a variety of these tiny treats and combine them with some of the unique sakes on offer. Afternoons feature an affordable lunch menu. The interiors are simple with a touch of elegance a... read more

Don't go to Douzo - Its an utter waste of time – The decor of the establishment is bland. It isn't particularly elegant, the service does not justify the price, and the place is extremely small. The spicy seafood salad is tiny, the rolls have too much rice and not enough sushi (an indicator of cheap ownership). The food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend it. I have eaten sushi at at least a hundred locations from California to New York, Japan, and Korea. For a truly authentic sushi place, that has healthy portions, ... read more
Douzo Review – Huge fan of this place, however it is a bit pricey. The location is basically right off of the Back Bay train station, therefore making it a hot spot for late night dinners practically any day of the week. Take a date here, grab some quick but good sushi, or just sit by the bar for some after work hour drinks. I've only been here on a Thursday night and business was bustling, which I like seeing over an empty and quite dining room. However this does mean you should be prepared to wait a while if you visit Thur... read more
Amazing Sushi!!! – Before going to Douzo, we were big fans of sushi, but pretty much stuck to the basics. At Douzo, we ordered the Omakase (where the chef creates a plate of whatever he chooses) for $70 (to split). It was the best, melt in your mouth sushi we have ever had! The fish was incredibly fresh and we found ourselves loving the eel and their specialty rolls. The service was great both times we went with our server being kind enough to explain what everything on the platter was (repeatedly!!). We would recommend Douz... read more
Overrated Restaurant: style, but very little content. – I don't hate this place, but I don't quite get all the 5-star reviews, either. I work nearby, so I've stopped in a few times (for take-out, post-work drinks with co-workers. and dinner with friends), but I have yet to be completely satisfied with my experience. Sure, the place is pretty and the food taste almost as good as it looks (What can I say. I'm a sucker for presentation), but I still think Douzo is a case of style over content, i.e. hot looks but tepid personali... read more
delicious! great decor! great service! – my favorite sushi in town, by far.
Best sushi I've had so far... – The sushi was so fresh, it melted in my mouth. The waitress was wonderful & very helpful, and her suggestions were on point. Their Cocolate Volcano Lava and Banana Tempura were out-of-this-world-delicious. I have tried my share of Martinies and had not found a Martini I could say I like, but after having their Green Tea Martini, I can now say I have a Martini of preference. It was all worth every penny. MizZim
Stylish Japanese eatery serves up inventive cocktails and fresh sushi in the shadow of the Back Bay T station. – In Short One of the city's most modern Asian restaurants, Douzo serves inventive sushi rolls and wicked house cocktails in mostly black, New York lounge-style environs. Indecisive diners select from a lengthy menu of familiar and unique offerings. Fresh veggie and seafood tempura--from Japanese yam to eel--are served a la carte. Several torch and hand rolls jockey for attention, and offbeat options include the piz... read more
Best Sushi I have ever had – This was the best sushi I have ever had and the service was great as well. If you are in the mood for good sushi and are in Boston, do not miss this place!
Overrated – Fish on sushi is quite thin. You are certainly paying more for the rent, location and the decor than the food.
