I decided incredibly last minute to hire a doula and it was the best decision I could have made. Valerie was the most supportive and comforting figure imaginable for both my husband and I throughout my labor. We loved working with Val so much! She really educated us on all possible birth outcomes and was there for me every step of the way when there was a curveball at the end of my pregnancy. My goal was to avoid an epidural which I was able to do, despite being induced, with Val’s encouragement and guidance. She will advocate for you, which is really helpful when you’re in a hospital setting. She also helped me SO much when I struggled with breastfeeding postpartum. Valerie was an amazing asset to the birthing of our child. With her in the mix we were well informed of the path and not wholly depending on the short 10 minute appointments with our Dr. Valerie took time explaining our options and helping us choose the right path that we were comfortable with. While I was completely overwhelmed during the birth she was there to support me and my wife were we to need anything.
