Children’s Expanders, not recommended.. Proceed with caution. One of my children had an expander placed at this office. We were extremely strict in following food restrictions and care guidelines for over 2 months. After 3 months, the expander snapped. The child was not consuming any restricted foods at the time, nor in the time leading up to it breaking.
