The hotel is nice but we had problems with the event manager, Joni. We planned our daughter’s wedding over 1 year in advance. Joni promised us plenty of shuttles to take our guests to & from the hotel to Lakes ar Lacey. 2 weeks prior, I called to confirm only to find out there were no shuttles. Another employee scrambled to get a few shuttles but it wasn’t enough. My advice is to stay at another hotel if your wedding is at Lakes of Lacey.
We had a two night stay. You have to request towels and room refresh; its not automatic. Ended up having to get our own towels for Day 2. Walls are thin, the rooms surround a gathering area on the main floor. The elevator can be heard as well as foot traffic in the hall. So it's not always real quiet. The room is spacious but needed better vacuuming. Rested and relaxed comfortably, however. A Starbucks in the hotel sold food items during the day.
Better than the average DoubleTree. The rooms are large and the bathrooms were very clean, which was a big plus. The interior overall feels a step up from what you’d normally expect at this brand. That said, the carpets definitely need attention—they didn’t feel as clean as the rest of the space. Breakfast was disappointing and not worth it; very basic and nothing special. The real highlight, though, is the in-house Italian restaurant, which was excellent and well worth trying.
