My room.was BIGGGGG!!!! I LOVE IT HERE!! if I am in Richmond again I will stay here. The breakfast was decent and better than most hotels.
The very first room. I was in had a very toxic odor. However, the following day, I was removed from that room and placed in another room, in which case that room would receive 5 stars. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The entire staff was very courteous and accommodating, excluding management (they stayed in the office and had the front desk staff person go back and forth while they still had to operate the front desk).
Usually stay next door at the garden inn and thought I would try the Double Tree this time. Bad move. $10 to park on top of disappointing rooms. Not making this mistake again. Do yourself a favor and just go to the HGI.
Simple hotel and serves it's purpose. Rooms are tired with bits peeling/hanging off the wall, and hotel in general could do with a refurbishment. Rooms were also extremely cold (which you can alter) but the AC doesn't appear to have climate control as it just blasts cool air for a few minutes (loudly) and then kicks out for 5 minutes before coming back on. Staff are friendly enough
The front desk clerks, do not know the hotels amenities such as TV smart TVs, capable of YouTube and Netflix. I called the front desk and I guess I spoke to a manager and asked if they had YouTube TV and Netflix. Cause when I’m in a room that’s what I care about plus cleanliness I usually pick new hotels. Not to know what your hotels have I don’t get it. I had a drive Way out of the way to go to this hotel and they didn’t have it.
