The only request I made was not to be on the first floor. My Mom and I travel to OC every year and as two women, it’s simply not safe. Upon check-in I was told our room would be on the first floor despite my request and that the hotel was now sold out. The room was not clean as you can see by the photos of suspicious stains. Love this hotel!! Awesome staff, clean and comfortable rooms with a beautiful ocean view!
I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Upon entering our room, we found the sofa bed to be extremely dirty and damaged — it had visible stains, tears, and was in no condition to be used. I requested to have it replaced, but the staff member who came insisted that it was gently used and did not replace the mattress or change the room, claiming the hotel was fully booked. Incredibly disappointing. We’ve stayed at this DoubleTree several times over the past couple of years, and it’s gone very much downhill. Management must have changed recently. We requested housekeeping to clean our room, and not once during our entire stay did anyone come. I’m not going to stay at a hotel that doesn’t respect its guests enough to empty the trash can once a day. Do not recommend. Do not stay at the DoubleTree—you will be incredibly disappointed.
