RecommendedThis Texan was in the area for work and stopped in for brisket, sausage and ribs. The brisket was excellent. Nice bark and seasoned just right. Good smoke flavor, not overdone. The ribs were also good Good flavor and tender. The sausage had a good flair and not to spicy like others I’ve had. I’ll be back to Havelock for work and will still stop in for sure. Oh, the sides were tasty also.

Traveling thru Havelock from the coast being from Texas we had to stop. I'd like to sue this place to have the Texas removed from the name! Hands down the worst brisket I have ever had. I had to wade thru the grease to get to the 80% fat that was slopped onto my toasted bread. The containers of sides looked disgusting so I went with chips. Excellent wait staff and great Smokey smells as soon as you walk in the door. the smoked sausage was amazing , the pepper jack Mac and cheese had a different flare and was really good and the beef brisket just fell apart and melted in your mouth . great lil stop , just happened to spot it driving by and decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint.
I heard about JJ' s Texas BBQ from a friend so we tried it. The brisket was great and so was the service. Will definitely come back!
Amazing!! From the smell to the taste could not be better!!! Authentically smoked and bbq’d!!! The bbq beans were the bomb and the the Mac and cheese was unlike any I ever ate!!! Service was great. The wait staff wanted us to go a cheaper route since it was our first time but we had to have the lg brisket plates!!!! Thank you double j Texas bbq!!!!!
Great food
Wanted something different today, so I drove around havelock before finding this little gem. The ribs were mouth watering, the potato salad was reminiscent of my summers in Alabama, the cookies done just right. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu. If you're looking for something different (than the run of the mill fast food joints) and want a taste that feels like it was made to order, give JJ a try.
