I lived at Hollendale Terrace and I moved my mom in with me. I didnt have any hot water in my apartment. I wrote letters, got the health department out there because of the mold. They fixed the mold problem in the bathroom, but I NEVER got any hot water. Other apartments around me didnt have any hot water either, but they didnt complain. DONT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. They have horrible customer service. My apartment was infested with rats and roaches and when I called about it they made it seem like there was nothing they could do. Then, I moved out 15 days early because I found a new house and so they could fix it up to rent out again and when I called to check on getting my deposit back they hung up on me. Then I called back and Darlene acted like she was not there and her daughter said they had 30 days to give me my deposit back, which no one said when I dropped the keys off. Then two... read more
LONG REVIEW! The owner Dwayne is the worst! I lived on one of their properties back in 2010. I moved in with another person and we qualified for the home with both incomes. The other person lost their job several months into the lease and was unable to get another job in a reasonable amount of time. I still had my job and was able to pay my portion but ultimately, I ended up having to call the landlord, Dwayne to discuss our options. In response to this review, The tenant is correct that I agreed that her situation may have been out of her control. However, it doesn't mean that she and her roommate are not responsible for the lease agreement. The lease agreement started 5/27/2011 and ended 5/31/2012,and they moved out 8/31/2011. If the lease agreement is not fulfilled, you automatically forfeit your deposit (theirs was $1000 not $1500) and are charged a "cost of reletting fee" for breaking the lease. The houses and properties are nice and clean,and they thrive to keep them that way.I have rented from D Double for almost ten years,and I would not want to rent from anyone else.
