Dot's Diner

4.5

About this business

This small nook of a restaurant, which serves nothing but breakfast, is a throwback to the Eisenhower administration in both look and price. All that is missing is the Everly Brothers on the radio. Booths and classic chrome counter stools give the room its time machine look. The all-breakfast menu offers the usual morning staples of pancakes, eggs, French toast, hash browns and biscuits all at great prices. Large cheese omelets go for $5.75. Keeping with the mood of Boulder it serves organic coffee.

CELIACS BEWARE! The service was good, the restaurant and bathroom relatively clean, the food tasted great. BUT even after confirming with the waitress that the suspect buscuit and sauce on my order were meant to be gluten free, I suffered an almost immediate and debilitating reaction. I ordered the green curry with chicken and brown rice and lentil soup. It came with a spicy sauce which I didn't eat (too spicy for me), and a sourdough type biscuit which looked identical to the one which came for my friend who is not gluten f... read more

A down home coffee and breakfast place with a friendly staff. Local folks eat there. The biscuits and gravy reminded me of my grandmothers fare. We'd sit at the kitchen table with a view to the chicken house where we just collected eggs. Dot's has a good feel.

Service was not very good. I sat for like 8-10 mins for service. I was also in a rush so it was frustrating. It felt like I was being ignored on purpose... The food however was good.

I love this place. One of the few remaining bits of the Boulder I grew up in. Been going here since I was a kid and now I bring my son to share it with him. Still just as good as ever!

My whole family love Dot's. Friendly efficient service and food are excellent! It has been our main breakfast/brunch place for decades now, since our 30 year-olds were just little. Perfect pancakes, luscious filling burritos, amazing biscuits, and tasty Nepalese curries for a change if you want or are there for lunch! And the authentic Chai is the best in town! Thanks Dot's for always being there... the Cooper family!
