Josey is a very good employee. He works fast and efficiently and treated me and my dad with much kindness. Regardless of the rush, he was still doing his job greatly. Other than that, the restaurant is delicious and absolutely beautiful inside. One of the best authentic mexican restaurants to eat at.
We recently visited Dos Portillos after moving to Aiken from NC and ordered takeout. We were surprised by how low the prices were compared to many Mexican restaurants in NC, but... when we picked up the food, the portions were very small. The rice was reheated—meaning it had been cooked a day or two prior and just warmed up for reuse, so it wasn't fresh—and the chicken we ordered for my son was tough. I really wanted to like this place. My wife and I were visiting Aiken and noticed several places were closed around 3. This place was open so we decided to try it. My wife is pescatarian (only meat she eats is fish), and Mexican restaurants are always a safe place for her. It was several minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order, despite there being only two or three tables with customers. The best authentic Mexican food I've ever eaten! The seasoning is spot on. The entire staff was friendly and interested in our opinions of the food. I highly recommend them and wish them much success.
Overall fantastic experience for our first opportunity eating lunch at this lovely restaurant. The topping sampler was an unique touch.
