Dave USED to be an amazing mechanic. He picked up our Prius for a head gasket repair in April 2025 and I gave him $1000 towards parts. Everytime we asked for a repair status update starting in June he would say it's almost done. He stopped replying to our texts in early Aug. In late August 2025 we had to file a 'failure t o return' stolen vehicle report. I'm sad because he was a great mechanic but seems to have big issues now. His business gets a F rating on the BBB website for complaints similar to ours starting in 2024.
I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Dooley's Auto Repair Shop. At first, he seemed honest, and after a couple of easy repairs, I trusted him with a more serious issue on my truck. I paid upfront for a transmission part, yet after more than five months, my truck is still not fixed—and my money is gone. He used it for his personal use. I recently took my vehicle to two garages to have a severe suspension problem fixed. Both locations charged me for parts and labor for things that in the end did not fix my suspension issues. After getting a hold of Dave, he offered to meet me that same day after hours to visually inspect my car. Used him last winter, one of the services he was supposed to do was a fluid change. He said he had forgot to pick up the fluid in Anchorage and told me that he would reach out in a couple days to finish the project since I had already paid for the complete work and I could stop by and he would get it done while I waited.
