I have to retract my previous 5 star review. While the people are still nice, a couple of days after the visit I learned that Carrier has a 20 year warranty parts and labour on the secondary heat exchanger. That is the exact part that failed on my unit. I think this information should have been disclosed to me rather than present me with a quote for the repair - a substantial quote at $3500 - in order to push me towards replacing the entire furnace. Aaron serviced my mom’s furnace and fireplace today . He was on time and was very polite and professional. Would like him to come back every year to keep all the HVAC systems running.
My mother in law needed a fitting replacement. They quoted $1500 after a $1200 good will discount. Claiming they have to check everything in house and have to fix anything they find. Mom calls her son who speaks with them from the other side of Canada to tell them he is a HVAC manager and that is a $600 job. They claim it's company policy to check entire house and mandatory to fix things outside code. Not true, there is a grandfather clause.
