I had elected to donate my son organs, he had also via his driver's license. Donor Alliance, made this entire process beyond an emotional nightmare. After stopping the overwhelming process and letting my son pass peacefully, they meet his body at the funeral home and harvested what they could after I said no. Sadly, I have a story similar to Jody Holt. My husband elected to be an organ donor at the DMV decades ago. After an experience with a loved one close to us and other personal reasons, my husband decided he did not want to be an organ donor anymore. He explicitly told his wishes to me and all of his children over the course of the last 10 years.
