Took engine to get fixed. Go to pickup for $900+ (was quoted $600-$700) They broke the balance shaft upon removing (they said they broke it while removing it). Told me to buy a new one and put it in myself. Part is discontinued, found on ebay for $500, and a machine shop needs to install it as it's not something a regular mechanic can do. Literally states in the "Haynes Repair Manual" to take to machine shop for install. So now I have to pay $500 for a part and find a machine shop to install it and pay that labor.
