Despite clearly advising the receptionist that I required an appointment for lens surgery, I was booked in with a junior doctor who was not qualified to perform the procedure. As a result, I now need to wait an additional six weeks to see the appropriate eye surgeon and will incur the cost of a second consultation (approximately $300). This was a very disappointing and avoidable outcome.
I booked an appointment for a routine check / potential procedure, arrived on time, and then spent one hour in the waiting room. I let reception know that I was leaving—to me, waiting one hour to see a doctor is unacceptable—and was told that 'patients should be aware that waiting times can be one to one and a half hours'... in what world is that acceptable? I highly recommend Doncaster Eye Centre if you have no commitments, don't value your own time, and enjoy spending a chunk of your day in a depressing waiting room.
Today I needed an emergency referral for a retinal tear. The Doncaster Eye Centre fit me in on the same day, all the desk staff were friendly and efficient and explained the process and the waiting time carefully as I was flustered and nervous. Their warm approach was very helpful. The assistant did all my pre tests with care and explained clearly what would happen. The surgeon Dr Thomas Edwards was also friendly, patient and explained everything he was doing. He was able to perform a laser repair to my retina on the spot!!!... read more
Terrible receptionist. They are so IMPOLITE and DO NOT have any PATIENCE to listen what you say. RIDICULOUS!
