First of all, Dr. Varner saved my mother's life when she was diagnosed with acute necrotizing pancreatitis from gallstones. I always go to him for my Colonoscopy. He's terrific!
His treatment of my husband’s pancreatitis nearly killed him
Dr. Varner worked me in for a colonoscopy after my fecal occult blood test came back positive. He found a tumor, and the biopsy identified it as adenocarcinoma. Dr Varner is extremely knowledgable, clearly explains things, and cares about his patients. I highly reccommend him to anyone looking for a gastroenterologist.

My bad experience was not with Dr. Varner himself. I have had 4 appointments now that were scheduled for the wrong office. They have 2 locations, 1 in Hendersonville and 1 in Brevard. They have screwed this up 4 times now. The last appointment (which was urgent) supposed to be for Hendersonville due to urgency but they scheduled me for Brevard. I had a colonoscopy performed in Dr. Varner's office in 2017. care was excellent. I also know him as a consulting physician and had great respect for his professional care.
Dr. Varner was welcoming to me and after my colonoscopy, he explained the results and the recommendations he had for me. He also answered my questions. He has a pleasant bedside manner and made me comfortable in what is not an especially positive process.
