The best mexican food & service in town We feel grateful to have such a great Tex Mex restaurant locally here in Ennis. They have great food & service of course, but my favorite is their new manager Jesus (Hey-suez) :0) You will never meet a nicer, sweeter, more giving manager anywhere.He's very personable, and THAT makes a huge difference to us & my kids.You won't get that in Dallas !! It's my favorite restaurant ever, and after 17 yrs of living in Ennis, it's now been labeled as "our place" for me and my hubby !!
Insulted at DJ's My friends and I were treated very poorly at this restaurant. We waited half an hour for our waiter to take our order. When we finally asked for our waiter nicely, the manager came over and very rudely scolded us for socializing too much. It must be against the rules to talk to your friends at a restaurant, and maybe get up to go to the restroom. Don Jose's Restaurant is good food! I have been in this restuarant more times than I can count. The food is good and I always receive great service. I know most of the people that work there and they have been there for a long time. I would suggest trying this place for yourself.
Pretty Good Mexican Food Don Joses is locally owned and operated. There are stores in Ennis, Waxahachie, and Corsicana. The owner is not a pleasant man, and he treats his employees badly, but this is not reflected in their service. I have never had a problem while dining at Don Joses. The food is nothing to rave about, but it is good Tex-Mex. This is not a cheap restaurant, but its not expensive either. Id say the prices are average to high-average. Be sure to try the margaritas.
Good food any time of day.
The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Go for a weekday lunch and ask to be seated at one of Dennis' tables to get the best service ever. Tell him one of the first Thursday men's crowd sent you and be sure to ask him what his take is on "the next big game." He is a wealth of sport knowledge and trivia.
We always ate at the Don Jose's in Waxahachie. We really liked it and had nothing to complain about. However, the last time we were low on Tex-Mex food, we found it closed and for sale. Real bummer! We are going to drive to Ennis to try the one there so see if it is as good as the closed restaurant in Waxahachie. I will keep you informed
