Voted Best Mexican Restaurant in Highlands County This family owned and operated restaurant offers the best in Mexican dining. The atmosphere is inviting, both inside and out; the menu is extensive; the food is excellent; and the service is acceptable. My friends and I eat here at least once every other month. My only complaint is that we want to eat outside on the dock to enjoy that fabulous Lake Jackson view, but there is never any room - even with trying to make reservations. The Best Mexican Restaurant in Sebring - Unfortunately! Unfortunately, I thought the best thing about Don Jose Mexican Restaurant was the decor. They have an extensive menu, but our first three or four choices were not available when we were there. Since the waiters and waitresses all spoke Spanish and little English, we had quite a problem communicating with them. Sitting at table sun Gleaming off cars in parking lot asked if they were able to close the blind that you can see through their response can’t close it so at that there is not a worry of customer satisfaction so something easily could of been taking care of not a customer satisfaction place no more of our business at this restaurant even though we eat here at least 30 times a year usually big groups well no more
Ordered online- 32.00 worth of food & they did not give salsa & chips- said I didn’t have 2 entrees, even though I order the same thing every time I order. The girl said they did it wrong before. When I pay for something, I want it, don’t give excuses. Will be awhile before I go back

Steak tacos had very little meat and stuffed with cheese which is not authentic at all, literally got two spoons full of beans with dry hard rice, waited over 10 minutes for chips and salsa and when asked for more we didn't get any, asked for no salt on glass and got salt. Complained but still paid full price. Definitely won't be going back.
Delicious food and drinks. Wonderful atmosphere.
