Beyond incompetent. Don Hall shouldn't be let anywhere near real estate. I recently sold a condo that had been heavily remodeled. New kitchen cabinets, upgraded appliances, new doors, tiled deck, removed popcorn ceilings, etc. This guy appraised my completely remodeled condo at least $10,000 BELOW market value, and even below other units that hadn't been touched at all in nearly 20 years. Somewhat professional based on my one experience however he was not able to provide a accurate estimate of the value of my home as he provided incorrect information on the appraisal (little things such as stating my home is on a well when it is on city water). Comparisons are difficult to come by in our santa fe market however appraisers are as resourceful as they want to be. I would not use this appraiser again.

Hired him two weeks ago. He charged $650 to do an appraisal and then went on vacation for two weeks knowing that the closing was a week after his return. Instead of gathering his own information on comparables in the market, he calls my real estate agent and asks him to compile properties for sale, sold, etc. My agent was bothered by that and so was I.
