History Established in 1970. From humble beginnings in the gulf city of Merida, Yucatan, Augusto "Cuco" Salazar Sr. departed from Mexico to the United States with nothing more than a suitcase, a passport and $100. For years, he worked two jobs saving every penny with aspirations to open his own business. The opportunity came and in 1969, he had saved enough to buy a small beer lounge. Super Waiters! – This is a wonderful restaurant for a trist. The room is dim the decor is deep red booths set into dark carved wood...very intimate. The fare are all Mexican comfort foods which might seem a touch high in price on the menu but most dishes could feed two. My recommendations are: The Burrito Ranchero con Pollo (Chicken Burito with beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream) and the Flan for dessert. Plus their service is noteworthy, the waiters seem to know your needs before you do!
