LOVE their sandwiches! My partner loves the Lamb and Italian Beef while I go for the veggie or Italian Combo. They have a huge line sometimes because they are so popular and so good. I call in and skip the line. They know many customers by name. Kind of old school and I love that!!
This is a 12 out 10 sandwhich shop. Right on par with Morrucci’s in Walnut Creek. I would rank the Alameda Domenicos and the Walnut Creek Morrucci’s as the 2 best sandwich shops in the Bay Area. Third place goes to the deli counter at Diablo Foods in Lafayette. This place just nails it on fronts. Drink and chip selection is great. Sandos are top notch. Bread is fire. And the casual old timey feel is everything I want in a sandwhich place. They should never remodel.
Any sandwich is fabulous. Ann who is the owner and works the cash register, is just a delight. She and the rest of the staff remember regulars’ names. Excellent customer services alongside the best sandwiches in Alameda!

Beautiful Alameda! Domenico's was a delicious Time Warp I'll not soon forget with it's cannoli for here, Chicago style Italian beef sammy, carrot cake and Alameda root beer to go for this cowboy. The owner and the sandwich guys were a hug from Lucretia Moramarco in her 1950s swimsuit.
