Worst rental agency ever, would have rated this as a negative 5 if I could. Let's explain what happens at Dollar Car Rental in Kona, Hawaii: 1) Arrived to pick up our car after 8 hr direct flight - they lost our car reservation and the agent had no idea how to proceed but just sat there regurgitating the same verbal diarrhea over and over. 2) when we finally got our car, it was left running in the parking lot with no walk around and available for anyone to just drive off with. 3) we returned the next day to upgrade to a 4x4 ... read more

its a place where they take you money and as refund., and yo don t see it again, i was charge two times with my credit car and my debit card i use my debit card to make reservation when i show the place they ask for credit card insted to return me the money they charge i paid $2000 dollar for 5 days, i return the car clean ,no accident ,no problem no number to speak in person the number they have no work no problem solve.
They gave me a filthy car, then charged 5.99 a gallon for gas even though I prepaid for 3.67 a gallon. 100 dollars to fill an economy car. Customer service was zero help.

Please please find another location to rent from and please read your paper work prior to leaving because the female working the Dollar counter will over charge you. Even when you tell her you don't need additional coverage. And when you call customer service like the other lady said they try and offer you a 1/3 of what they owe you. Ridiculous.
Rented a small SUV. Within hours after reaching my destination I saw a roach scurry in the back seat. Thought is was a random bug. A couple days later took a long road trip and had at least 8 roaches walking on my foot, leg, as well as on my kids. We threw out all the good we took with us. Killed about 4 roaches but couldn't catch the many others who call this vehicle their home. What a disaster! Car needs a roach bomb!
Last two times there was an hour to a two hour wait to get my car after the paper work was finished. They said I was waiting for it to be washed. Said the same thing last time. Asked if I could have my car without it being washed and they said no. Wow, 9:30pm stuck waiting in the this crazy hot garage
