We tried taking our dog here, and they called shortly after drop off to say she wasn’t doing well and would not be a good fit. She had already experienced boarding/daycare elsewhere with zero issues. I was hoping to get further details when I arrived to pick her up but no one was around which felt very intentional. I know they’re going to respond saying they can only go off what they see, but for a place that boasts about having an animal behaviorist, it doesn’t seem like our girl was given much of a chance. We chose Dogtopia Golden Valley after our preferred boarding options were unavailable during our travels. We appreciated their process of requiring a daytime play session before boarding, and our dog’s initial visit and first short boarding stay earlier in July went smoothly. However, our second experience was much more stressful. We dropped our puppy off on July 15 for a longer stay through July 28. Was asked to pick up my dog less than 2 hours after drop-off. Apparently he "was not leaving other dogs alone." Didn't start a fight or anything, just sniffing them or whatever, like dogs do. And they were afraid it would escalate. He's been there many times before without issue. But it has been a while, and I noticed when I dropped him off there was a bunch of new staff.
