Wonderful Our family loves going to Dockside every time we visit Myrtle Beach. We drive an hour from where we stay to visit the very friendly family owned restaurant. True most everything is fried, but that's what Calabash is all about. We also love the Ribeye, better than most steak houses anywhere. We've been going for about 30 years and now we will be taking the new 4th generation to experience the quaint little seafood restaurant in Calabash.

I keep coming back This is one of the few places I can say that I've eaten at for over 40 years (I'm 47). It was a frequent lunch destination after church when I was a kid and my grandparents were still around to go with us. The place seemed like it was no bigger than a postage stamp, and you had to go outside to go to the men's and ladies' rooms. They remodeled in the mid-1970s, and it's about five times the size it was, all light colored wood, bright and airy, where it had been a cramped brick place before. It's one restau... read more

great seafood We had a family dinner at dockside for a Father's Day celebration and we had a lovely time there. We sat close to a fireplace (not burning, it WAS June) and there was a nice rustic feeling to the place. The seafood is fantastic, mostly Calabash style, but I love it. I had scallops and enjoyed every bite. My only wish is that they took reservations because we had quite a little wait that evening.

Horrible I would NOT recommend this place to NO one! The owner and manager were rude and VERY disrespectful. HATEFUL! They were only concerned about getting our money! On top of that, the food was HORRIBLE. It was like eating a plate of lard and the prices were ridiculous!

My favorite seafood restaurant I've been coming to Dockside for nearly 25 years, and I can still say that it's my favorite restaurant in the world! It's very simple and mainly fried, but the fried shrimp and oysters are amazing. Dockside has mastered the "Calabash style" of cooking, serving lightly breaded shrimp by the plateful. We try to make the one-hour drive up to Calabash every time we visit the SC coast. PROS: Calabash shrimp CONS:

Been going here for years...... Time to find another go to. I even asked if it changed owners because it wasn’t anything close to how it was 5 months ago. We literally poured grease off of my wife’s plate into a butter container. Very sad that no one seemed to care about anything but the money I owed for our bill.
