Best place in williamsburg – My boyfriend and I visited Doc wine bar last week for an intimate dinner for two in the outdoor-dining. Our evening was great starting off with glass of Prosecco for me and a glass of the special white wine for my boyfriend.WE had the special salad, which was delicious and the home made bread and cheese gnocchi, which was an unusual plate,simple but phenomenal. Great food, great wine, great staff, great find – Extremely authentic. DELICIOUS!!!! A romantic wine bar, is like dining in Italy without traveling, the place can get very busy but the food and service is always first rate.A nice personal touch with the owners, husband and wife, coming out into the dining room and meeting every table...Very unique!! WE LOVED IT.
Very romantic – I really went for the Capresse Salad my roommate recomended, and found great wine, friendly service, and romantic Atmosfere!!! Angelo the waiter was really nice and helpful with the wine selection, the Tiramisu was a little too creamy (I expected amazing) I will totally go back but I would love it if they took credit card... my date had to walk to the closest ATM, we didn't know it was a cash only (oops!) But definitely worth it.
A truly romantic night spot! – This is by far one of my favorite spots in NYC. I have been here time and again, and never dissapointed. My one complaint is that the service can be a bit slow, but I tend to use this as an excuse to savor the rustic candlelit atmosphere and savor my wine. The cheese and italian cold cuts plate for two is awesome, the olives are great, and the panini and salds the best. My personal favorite is the mozzarella and tomato caprese- I've never tasted better mozarella in my life. a real gem!
Amazing experience!! – i've been there again on friday after a long time and i forgot how brilliant this place is. i got there at around 10 and place was still crowded, so we started at the bar with a glass of prosecco. the waiter was really nice chatting with us while he was hand washing the gorgeous wine glasses. he explained us that he has been working there since the beginning and that he just loves working there because it reminds him of italy..... i was just stunned by his genuine simple view of the place.... just like... read more
Sardinia in Williamsburg – This is my favorite restaurant, period. Whenever I go to DOC I have a fantastic time. It's like home away from home. However, it's not for everyone. The menu is limited to very simple Sardinian specialties. They offer about 40 wines, but they're all Italian. You won't find a California pinot among them. Best wine in the Best city – Even after all of their positive press, D.O.C. continues to offer great service and a neighborhood feel. The food and wine are still among the best in the city as well, with freshness and quality at the forefront. The total package. I'm over the moon for this restaurant ! It's worth take the subway from manhattan I've loved their vibrant food for years.....and now, I can sit in the sun and relish their delightfully delicious talliere . Wow !!! 2 out of three aint bad – i've been here 3 times. the first two times were absolutely perfect. the 3rd however, the waiter forgot to put in our order for food and we ended up waiting an hour for them (b/c they were really busy). they did comp us a dessert and glass of dessert wine however. i will go back b/c i love the atmosphere and food so much. perhaps try going on an off night when it is not so packed.
