The food was overpriced and basic to be soul food. The pork chops were thin cut.
I was raised most of my life in the south, And I have always loved Soul food. DND Had a fantastic selection and the taste of everything that I got was fantastic. The best soul food I’ve had since I’ve left the south. Others are OK. I found myself sitting back after I had finished lunch and realized that the after tasted my mouth was just like I remember. The staff is just super friendly and it wasn’t fake at all. Sunday lunch Felt like family.
A gem I just happened to find while at an event at the Tacoma Dome. SO GLAD Y'ALL ARE HERE DOING YOUR THING!! Will make it a point to visit every time I come to Tacoma (from Seattle).
Oh my!!! I would give 10 stars!!! Catfish was excellent! We had red beans and rice, fried cod (so meaty), and hot links. I could just get the Mac and Cheese and call it a day!!! Hubby said the wings were perfect! The server (wish I had gotten her name) was so attentive and friendly! They give large portions. I completely forgot to get pictures! Small dining area but there were LOTS of to go orders! 10/10!!!
