We had our house built less than 3 years ago. We knew we could afford the price they gave us, but then, halfway through the building process, they handed us a piece of paper showing the price went up half again as much. They told us if we didn’t like it we could just walk away….REALLY. Just excuses, no reasons. Most of the subcontractors were Latinos who were slobs. If I could give them 0 stars I would. In February of 2023 we signed a contract for construction of a new home. Our salesman (typical liar) said they could have it ready for move in by December of 2023, but we did not want to move during the holidays. Two (2) years later we had the CO in Jan 2025. We were told by 1 owner they had it in December which was another lie. A great house? Sure—if you don’t need a roof! When we purchased our brand-new home from DM Dean, we were promised a high-quality build with a roof that could withstand winds up to 135 mph. Yet, within just four months of moving in, an 80 mph windstorm tore off two-thirds of the shingles—proving their so-called “industry professional” roofing company, First-Rate Roofing, is anything but first-rate. 4 years ago DM Dean built my home and overall I feel they did a good job. There were a few things that didn’t work perfectly like our Central Air, it took about a year and a half to get that straight and we just replaced the A Coil for the second time. Even though we paid an extra $1,200 to get the tile grout sealed there are numerous spots where it has popped out. And the pavers around the pool sank, in some places 3”, and became uneven, when I called the pool company that did the installation they said that it was only war... read more
